Joe Jefferson Players aptly titled “Alabama’s Oldest Continually Running Theatre”, remains a prominent feature in Mobile’s historical community. The little theatre on Carlen street has been around since 1949 and is currently within it’s 77th season. JJP’s story of humble perseverance adds to the building’s architectural charm. The Joe Jefferson Players have helped to create a vibrant theatre community, encouraging those interested in performance to join regardless of experience, age, or creed.

The Joe Jefferson Players have been cemented as a historically significant company within the city of Mobile for the building’s architecture and for fostering community engagement since it’s inception.
